STAN BOWMAN
With this group of works I start with appropriated news photographs captured digitally, some from CNN in order to make a connection with the current moment. Others are screen grabbed from Google images folders. Having done this I then zoom into the pixel level of each image where I can copy and paste groups of pixels and morph the picture into a total abstraction. In this way I am taking current moments and scrambling them to fashion a way to look at and experience them in another context entirely.
BIOGRAPHY:
My works have been exhibited widely both nationally and internationally for nearly 50 years as a photographer, mixed media painter, and more recently as a digital montage and 3D artist.
