Interactive Tokyo 2007

by Masa Inakage last modified 2007-09-29 02:29

An exhibition for interactive art and emerging technologies.

Held from September 29 – 03,, 2007 at National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, Tokyo, Japan.  20 innovative media art and design works as well as interactive systems with emerging technologies were exhibited.

“LogLog”, by the team of Prof Naemura at University of Tokyo, is an interactive work that visualizes the flow field.  When one stands on the “log” bridge and jumps, the vibration caused by the jump disturbs the flow.

“Optical Trajectory 2” by Tsutomu Mutoh is an interactive lamp that changes its color by swinging the lamp.  The angle of the lamp defines the color.

“Animation System with Multi-Touch Device” by Takeshi Takayama and Takeo Igarashi is an interactive paint system with multi-touch interaction.

“Full-scale saccade-based display” by Junji Watanabe and his team is a visual illusion display that seems to be 3 emitting pole lights.  But, by moving one’s head very fast one can start to see an image, and these 3 poles become displays.

Images are inthe iTokyo folder.
